Typhoon and its induced flooding issues have always brought huge economic damage and life losses.It is essential to study variation trend in frequency and intensity of typhoon,particularly for these landed in China mainland.Variations in frequency, intensity of typhoon landed in China mainland and typhoon-induced rainfall were investigated in this paper.Results show that during 1950-2012, the number of typhoon landed in China mainland presented a decreasing trend in general.However, the number of the typhoon with higher-intensity and its proportion in total typhoon number has been increasing.The location of typhoon generation in the Pacific Ocean tends to move northward.The typhoon-induced rainfall exhibits a significant increasing trend.As a result of changes in typhoon, risk of storm flood, strong storm surge would likely increase in the context of climate change.
