Barium (strontium) calcium sulphoaluminate is a novel and derivative mineral compound of calcium sulphoaluminate by the partial substitution of barium or strontium for calcium, possessing the distinct properties of low calcination temperature, fast setting, high early strength, slight expansion as well as good corrosion resistance.In this paper, a systematic introduction of the work on these types of cement has been given.The crystal features, calcinations process as well as hydration theory of barium (strontium) calcium sulphoaluminate was systematically studied.The distinguished performances on mechanical properties, corrosion resistance as well as permeability were obtained for barium (strontium) calcium sulphoaluminate cement with its practical demonstration introduced.Moreover, by mineral combination techniques, alite-barium (strontium) calcium sulphoaluminate cement and belite-barium (strontium) calcium sulphoaluminate cement was fabricated in an industrial scale as newly types of cement with good performance possessed.Moreover, the practical application of these Woes of cement in site has been presented, which showed great potential for use in harsh environments.
