Using a polyene cytochrome P450 hydroxylase (CYP)-specific genome screening strategy,a rare actinomycetes Pseudonocardia autotrophica KCTC 9441 was previously determined to contain a biosynthetic gene cluster for a Nystatin-like novel polyene compound tentatively named NPP in the chromosome [1].NPP is believed to be a typical tetraene macrolide antifungal antibiotics synthesized by the action of so-called type Ⅰ modular polyketide sybthases.
