Obesity and accumulation of visceral fat have been implicated in the development of metabolic syndrome.High-fat diet-induced obesity, ob/ob and db/db mice are often used in obesity research.However, to our knowledge, a regional fat-deficient, especially visceral fatless, animal model is not yet reported.In this study, we employed Suncus murinus (S.murinus) to examine the distribution of mature adipocytes and its precursor cells in both visceral and subcutaneous regions where fat tissues are seen in m1ce.
