Intraoral, minor salivary gland carcinomas form around 5% of all malignant tumors of the oral cavity.A large number of histologic types vary from slow-growing, low-grade carcinomas to very aggressive carcinomas with early distant metastases.Clinical outcomes and prognosis for survival depend on histologic type as well as clinical stage.Consensus has not been achieved in the management of minor salivary gland carcinomas by each histological type yet due to scarcity of this type of carcinoma.
