The Padma River is the combined flow of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna and Ganges rivers,a hundred kilometer long before it meets another large river,the Upper Meghna River.It is the third largest river in the world in terms of discharge.This river flows into the northern part of the Bengal Delta.The Padma is the fine-sand bed river,planform characteristics change over time from single treaded to multithreaded river.Over the decades morphological characteristics of the river show a complex pattern of changes that was dominated by different drivers in different time.Identification of those drivers and their roles in forming,the river morphology is the key focus of the research.
