This study was designed to introduce the surgical procedures and therapeutic efficacy in two cases of acute spinal cord injury and three cases of chronic injury.Data have shown that the decompression inside and outside the spinal cord is the key to surgery of acute spinal cord injury,which is performed to reserve the remaining nerve as much as possible.In the surgery of chronic spinal cord,cerebrospinal fluid circulation disorder caused by the wide adhesion surrounding the trauma,the compression of arachnoid cyst to the spinal cord and the persistent injury caused by traumatic syringomyelia are the main problems to be solved.The present findings clarify the safety,necessity and efficacy of spinal cord injury surgery.
