Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)is a class of endogenous RNA molecules in eukaryotes.lncRNAs are made up by a 200-10000nt sequences of transcript that is lacking complete functionally open reading frame(open reading frame,ORF)and encoding a small number of the functional short peptide.Numerous research reports have revealed that lncRNAs are able to regulate gene expression at the epigenetic,transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels by the means of interfering with transcription,modulating chromatin remodeling and histone modifications,modulating protein activation and localization,generating small RNAs and regulating patterns of alternative splicing.
