Backgroud: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is one of the major causes of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, and being a world-wide health concern, extensive fundamental and clinical researches haven been done to solve this incurable disease.However, despite the effort, the underlying mechanisms of HBV infection are still unclear.Hepatoma cell line HepG2.2.15, derived from its parental cell line HepG2, is transfected with a plasmid containing two head-to-tail dimmers of the HBV genome and is characterized by stable HBV expression and the production of viral particles, providing an excellent model for studying HBV in vitro.
