Multiple damage identification in beams based on curvature mode shapes has become a research focus of increasing interest in recent decades.Unfortunately,a single mode shape usually conveys insufficient information for damage characterization,so the existing methods relying on a single mode shape likely fail to detect multiple damage in a beam.With this concern,a novel method using data fusion of a group of curvature mode shapes is proposed with the aim of identifying multiple cracks in beams.The effectiveness of the method is verified by numerical cases of beams with multiple cracks.The results show that proposed method based on data fusion of curvature mode shapes has the advantage of clarifying multiple cracks over traditional curvature mode shape method using a single mode shape.
