Celadon shards from Gangjin and Buan were analyzed for color, chemistry and microstructures. They exhibited similar chromatic characteristic from CIEL*a*b* analysis. All the glazes are shown in the comparable compositional area while bodies from Gangjin shards have higher RO2 concentration.Similarity is also found in the microstructures of glaze and body from both regions.Anorthite crystals are appeared in the glaze layer, and also phase separation behavior is developed around these crystals. This is possibly caused by the glaze chemistry and sintering process with lengthy heating and cooling time.Raman analysis indicates higher isolated SiO4 unit (Q0) values for the samples from Buan. This can be a result from higher firing temperature or longer sintering process.
