Biodegradable polymer aqueous solutions which undergo sol-to-gel transition as the temperature increases, thermogels, have been intensively investigated for various biomedical applications including drug delivery,3D cell culture,anti-adhesive membrane, tissue engineering, etc due to their simple procedure to form a hydrogel under physiological conditions. In particular, three dimensional (3D) scaffolds containing growth factors and stem cells can be prepared in situ by injecting the formulation to a target site by temperature-sensitive sol-to-gel transition. The applications of polypeptide-based thermogels as a 3D scaffold of tonsil-derived stem cells (TMSCs) will be presented, focusing specific differentiation into chondrocytes, osteocytes, and hepatocytes.
