Background, Motivation and Objective 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is a promising non-invasive imaging modality for planning and guidance of cardiac interventions. However, it offers a limited field-of-view and thus stitching of multiple images is often necessary to provide a complete view of a cardiac region of interest, e.g. the left atrium (LA). We propose atlasbased mosaicing as a method for fusion of different views of the LA.
