Accurate aeroelastic analysis requires high performance computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods because the aerodynamic nonlinearity is very dominant in the transonic region.The nonlinear aeroelastic analysis has been performed using Navier-Stokes, Euler, full potential, and transonic small-disturbance (TSD) equations.However, the applications ofNavier-Stokes, Euler, and full potential equations usually need large amounts of computation time compared with the TSD equation.Thus, aerodynamic solver using the TSD equation has frequently been used to perform practical aeroelastic analysis for many aircraft models.
