Objective: Competent practice by nurses on intravenous therapy(IVT)is essential in maintaining patient safety.It is part of the scope of practice that is mandated by the Nursing law.However,not all hospitals institute a formal means of qualifying nurses for this provision.Some institutions reason that undergraduate students are already prepared with IVT,negating the need for additional formal training.
