The lithology of the mantle source area is an important factor in controlling the trace element behavior in the partial melting of the mantle. In the recent ten years, the First Period Transition Elements (FRTEs) have been widely used in the lithology identification of mantle source areas. During the ultrabasic and basic rock melting, FRTEs show a compatible to medium incompatibility and are powerful tools for tracing the lithology of the mantle source (Le Roux et al., 2011).
