A light-driven pseudo[4]rotaxane,based on α-cyclodextrin (α-CyD) and cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]),was prepared conveniently.Another two reference pseudo[2]rotaxane and pseudo[3] rotaxane were obtained via the inclusion between α-CyD and CB[7] with a dumbbell-like component including an azobenzene unit and two viologen moieties,respectively.The CyD macrocycle in pseudo[4]rotaxane can be photochemically stimulated to shuttle accompanied with obvious ICD signals.
