Both dietary and genetic factors contribute to individual differences in body weight regulation.The present study examined the change of sucrose sensitivity in obesity-prone (OP) rats and obesity-resistant (OR) rats induced by a high fat diet or a normal basal diet.Rats were screened and selectively bred for being either susceptible,i.e.,exhibiting OP,or resistant (OR) when exposed to the high fat diet with 46.35 %fat,or the normal basal diet with 10.66 %fat.A 2×2 experimental design was used,based on these two strains of rats and exposure to the two kinds of diet for eighteen weeks.
