This research attempts to analyze the different aspects of the impacts of immigration.for an East African developing country.In doing so,it uses the case of Uganda and several African countries as reference.It tackles the impacts different kinds of immigrants in the East African country while analyzing the policies the local government has in the management of migration.A special focus is given on the case of Asian immigrants and refugees due to the East African countrieshistory.The research shows that there is a need in the establishment and the strategizing of the policy implementation.The research also shows the need for policies consider the different changes in immigration trends.The different immigrants in different sectors have shown a lack on skilled workers and the allocation of those skilled workers as well as the ways through which those skills can be obtained.While there is an increase of foreign tourists,foreign investments and international students in Uganda and the other East African countries,the different policies are not sufficient to reap the benefits from those inflow of population.In the case Asian immigrants where the local community seems to have developed a general discontent that is gradually worsening if the government does not decide to tackle the problems.In the case of refugees where unregistered ones or those who are living outside settlements are still difficult to manage for the government.As well as in the case of tourism,higher education and immigrant workers in which further attention needs to be given in policy making.It also argues that other factors need to be considered in the making of the countrys migration policies in order to enjoy the different benefits from immigration,especially when it comes to developing countries where most of the population is living through the ownership of small businesses or agricultural means.There is a lot the East African countries could learn from Uganda,either from the countrys needs in policy,or its successful endeavors in changing or implementing different policies.
