Despite the fact that there is presence of African news in China Daily News Paper, yetonly issues which present the continent in bad light are given much space as the westernmedia often does. This study assess Africa’s image in China Daily Newspaper. To investigatethe phenomenon, the researcher applied both quantitative and qualitative methods to contentanalyzed China Daily Newspaper. The study covered a one year period-1st January2013to31stDecember2013. Parameters were identified and coded and grouped as Favourable(Positive), Unfavourable (negative), Mixed and Neutral. The finding accounts for26per centof unfavourable coverage of Africa, while favourable accounts for23per cent. Based on theoutcome, the study concludes that China Daily is also guilty to a minimal extent of portrayingAfrica negatively to its audience by providing more space to issues which did not paint a goodpicture of the continent.
