Su Shi’s “Dongpo Zhilin” has always been known as a note-taking work. However, the existing “Zhilin” version was published in the Ming Dynasty and was not compiled by Su Shi personally. According to some of the epistles of Su Shi, “This should not be the case. After studying some historical documents and forefathers’ writings, we can deduce that Dongpo originally planned to complete two books, namely ”Handze“ in the nature of notes and ”Zhilin“ in his history. However, due to various reasons, ”Zhilin“ failed to complete And into a few articles, and in a large number of posthumous manuscripts, the author did not leave a clear distinction between the two book collection aspects, resulting in the mixture of two books and thus form the existing ”Zhilin.“ This article intends to start from the literature to explore the original appearance of ”Dongpo Zhilin".
