Currently in England, Europe and North America, prenatal diagnosis of genetic diseases is provided by many obstetric hospitals, providing chorionic samples in early pregnancy. However, the safety of access methods is still not certain in many respects. Some countries have started randomized controlled trials of technology in order to obtain information on the dangers of such technologies.
