1998年以来,国家分年度、分阶段对鸳鸯灌区干支渠和建筑物等实施了续建配套与节水改造。随着各年度工程的竣工投运,灌区工程设施面貌在一定程度上得到了改观,工程减灾效益、经济效益、节水效益和生态效益等逐步显现。经跟踪调查和运行测试,灌区工程维护费和安全事故不断减少,粮食生产能力不断提高,灌溉用水率和节水量不断提高,生态环境不断改善,在一定程度上缓解了灌区缺水状况,促进了灌区农村经济的快速稳定发展。
