The authors report the significance of urinary enzyme assays for toxic nephropathy caused by intravenous injection of uranium into rabbits and discuss the mechanism of increased urinary enzyme activity. Experimental methods: 38 male rabbits weighing 2.5 kg were divided into three groups. The first group of 5, for the study of the relationship between time and response. Animals were intravenously injected once with a dose of 0.2 mg uranium / kg of uranyl acetate and the kidneys were examined at 1, 2, 4 and 6 days after injection. The second group of 28, divided into five subgroups, to study the relationship between dose and response. Animals were intravenously injected with 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 and 1.0 mg uranium / kg of uranyl acetate for 24 hours and 48 hours after administration, respectively
