Few people are now shopping at the supermarket carrying vegetable basket, cloth bag. In order to make it easier and cheaper for consumers, many supermarkets take the initiative to provide customers with plastic bags, but the thin plastic bags, caused by pollution and economic consumption is not small. China Chain Store and Franchise Association released the “supermarket energy saving report” shows that the entire supermarket industry plastic bags and boxes cost nearly 5 billion yuan each year! And the resulting white garbage can be imagined. Every windy weather, many plastic bags are scraped in the trees, and some also run the wind. It is reported that in Beijing, annual packaging, including bags, torn bags, boxes and other consumer costs can account for 0.5% of supermarket sales. In the end, most packaging materials can only be disposed of in the form of scrap products, which alone cost nearly 10 million yuan a year. In addition to economic losses, the environmental pollution caused by waste plastic bags can not be underestimated. Many plastic bags are not degradable, even if incinerated, buried, the toxic substances or can not be completely degraded. Even biodegradable plastics can only degrade to a certain extent and can not be completely detoxified.
