The primary goal of primary cementing is to provide a complete and permanent annular seal that is isolated from mechanical and chemical stresses during drilling and production. Tubing rotary drilling (TTRD) technology poses a challenge to cementing design. The use of biconical drill bits gives larger open hole diameters compared to through-hole methods, but with the difficulty of centering the tubing and increasing the complexity of removal of the pre-front drilling mud. By challenging conventional design practices, a design was proposed that combined with a low or high rheological fluid property to achieve a fixed 278-in. Liner.
