我校是市属普通中学,共有学生980名,其中女生660名,占学生总人数的67%。女生月经初潮,是女性进入青春期的重要标志,是正常的生理现象,但由于她们对此缺乏必要的生理知识,容易产生神秘、害羞和恐惧,影响健康和学习。为了对女生青春期教育提供依据,我们于1987年9月,首次对545名14～18岁的女生进行了月经情况调查。调查主要是由专人逐个询问并作记录的方法进行。经过调查已发生初潮者463人,占84.
