Fish oil was added to the basic diet to make isonitous feed at five different fat levels (7.07%, 9.92%, 12.92%, 15.95% and 19.04%), and grouper with a body weight of 278.5 g was fed for 10 weeks. The results showed that with the increase of feed fat level, the growth rate, specific growth rate and protein efficiency of grouper showed a significant downward trend (P <0.05), the trend of feed efficiency was opposite to that of weight gain rate The viability of treatment group was not affected by feed fat level (P> 0.05). The content of crude fat in whole fish and muscle increased steadily and the content of ash in whole fish decreased gradually. The water, crude protein and muscle moisture, crude protein and ash content in whole fish were not affected by feed fat level (P> 0.05). Fatness and dirty body ratio increased gradually with the increase of feed fat level and stabilized; the ratio of liver to body gradually increased. Plasma glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol and high density lipoprotein levels were significantly increased (P <0.05), total protein and low density lipoprotein were significantly decreased (P <0.05). Liver hepatic esterase, lipoprotein lipase and malate dehydrogenase activity decreased with the increase of feed fat, lactate dehydrogenase activity increased gradually. Liver alkaline phosphatase, superoxide dismutase and lysozyme activity increased gradually with the increase of feed fat level and stabilized; acid phosphatase activity decreased significantly (P <0.05). According to the specific growth rate, the quadratic curve model obtained that the feed requirement of foraging grouper was 14.44%.
