河南是我国的农业大省,小麦产量居全国之首,因此,号称“小麦王国”。但由于我省地处南北气候过渡带,降水受季风影响较大,时空分布极不均匀,南多北少,40～65%的降水集中于夏季。据统计:每1.5年发生一次干旱,5年一次大旱,一年之内春旱连伏旱、伏旱续秋旱屡见不鲜,往往豫南军民奋力抗洪,豫西、豫北却旱得禾苗枯萎、河水断流、井渠干涸,动辄五大班子率众抗旱……
Henan is a big agricultural province in China, with the output of wheat ranking the first in the country. Therefore, it is known as “Wheat Kingdom ”.
