On February 6, 2007, Pan Jianwei, a member of the National Laboratory for Microscale Physical Sciences at the China University of Science and Technology, and his colleagues Yang Tao and Lu Chaoyang, successfully refreshed two world records in photon entanglement and quantum computing through experiments. Today, Moore’s Law is widely questioned, quantum computing is considered as a powerful weapon to inherit Moore’s Law. It can speed up the current computational speed by hundreds of millions of times. So, what exactly is quantum computing? What is the difference between it and current computer technology? Will Moore’s Law, which has been used for nearly 40 years, be broken by the birth of new technologies?
