This article first introduced the concept of parallel text: any references that are close to the original. In the case of museum exhibits, “any reference” should also include pictures or objects that carry information using non-linguistic symbols. Based on this understanding, this paper further divides parallel texts into parallel texts of linguistic and non-linguistic parallel texts. The former can help the translator to understand the original text and establish the translation in the process of translating the introductory text of the Chinese museum exhibits, while the latter can effectively compensate for the translator’s misunderstanding of the original meaning caused by the ambiguous Chinese expression so as to ensure that the translation is conveyed fully and accurately Exhibits carried by the Chinese culture information.
