On May 18, 2001, UNESCO announced that Kunqu opera in China has become the first “masterpiece of human oral and intangible heritage.” In March 2004, the Central Party Committee and the State Council made important instructions on the “rescue, protection and support” of Kunqu Opera. The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance devoted a lot of manpower and material resources to the “rescue” work. As an ancient drama, it can be so specially protected. Where is its value? What kind of footprints has it left in the course of the development of Chinese culture? I am afraid to go from the history of the occurrence and development of Chinese opera Explore.
