2004年,周家庄遗址进行了首次发掘,南、北两区各发掘76平方米,获得了一批较为丰富的资料。初步揭示了遗址至少包含仰韶晚期、庙底沟二期、龙山时期三个不同时期的文化遗存,此次发掘同时丰富了相关文化的内涵和认识。发掘前后几次所做的调查,基本摸清了遗址的文化内涵及不同时期遗存的分布位置等。从调查情况来看,不同时期遗存的分布位置和丰富程度差别很大,其中,以龙山时期的遗存最为丰富,分布也最广。
In 2004, the first excavation of the site of Zhoujiazhuang was carried out. Each of the two areas in the north and south of the city excavated 76 square meters and obtained a batch of more abundant materials. The site of the excavation revealed at least three cultural relics of the late Yangshao period, the Miaodiou period and the Longshan period. This excavation at the same time enriched the connotation and cognition of the related culture. Excavations made several times before and after the survey, the basic understanding of the cultural connotation of the site and the distribution of relics in different periods of location. Judging from the investigation, there are great differences in the distribution locations and richness of relics in different periods. Among them, the relics in Yongsan were the most abundant and the most widely distributed.
