我县敬安原种场从1956年开始搞原种复壮,1958年开始生产原种,十六年来为国家提供优质原种160多万斤。1973年全县原种圃面积达到4,000多亩,一年生产“敬安508”原种40多万斤,比无产阶级文化大革命前的1965年增加近12倍。1966年我县全部棉田用原种二代更新;1974年全县11万亩棉田都是种植“敬安508”原种一代,两年可更新一次。由于我县抓了原种繁育,及时进行更新,棉花品质明显上升,单产不断提高。据1972年考察,全县棉种平均纯度为98.74％,比1963年提高43.53％;衣分42.22％,提高6.68％;绒长31.93毫米,提高4.31毫米。当年出售籽棉平均衣分38.53％,绒长大都为29-31毫米。1972年全县平均亩产皮棉108斤,1973年增加到121斤。
Jing’an County, my county seed field from 1956 to engage in rejuvenation of the original species, 1958 began producing the original species, 16 years to provide the country with more than 160 million pounds of high-quality species. In 1973, the area of original planted nurseries in the county reached 4,000 mu, a year more than 400,000 kilograms of “Jingan 508” were produced, an increase of nearly 12 times that of 1965 before the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. In 1966, all the cotton fields of our county were renewed with the original seeds of the second generation. In 1974, the 11 million mu of cotton fields in the county were all planted with “Jingan 508” original seedlings and could be renewed in two years. As my county arrested the original breeding, timely updates, significantly increased the quality of cotton, yields continue to increase. According to the inspection in 1972, the county cotton average purity of 98.74%, 43.53% higher than in 1963; clothing 42.22%, an increase of 6.68%; velvet length 31.93 mm, an increase of 4.31 mm. The average selling price of seed cotton was 38.53%, cashmere grows 29-31 mm. In 1972 the county average yield of lint 108 pounds, increased to 121 pounds in 1973.
