Felix’s goal is to jump down from 37,000 meters by the end of the year and if successful, Felix will be the first human to break the sound barrier with his body during a free fall. On August 16, 1960, Felix was a former bomber chief Air Force Colonel Joe Kittinger saw the unseen Earth scene - he stood alone in a special helium balloon, read a prayer, and then jumped from a height of 31,300 meters when the temperature in the sky was minus 79 However, Joe wore only a thin layer of booster suits, breathed through the aerator, and quickly fell to Earth at speeds of up to 988 kilometers per hour.
