古装戏曲的服装设计区别在于其他舞台剧服装设计的一个重要特点,是它惯以程式化的服饰——行头来表现人物的身份,服务于以歌舞演故事的戏曲特性。这是自明朝以来戏曲艺术传统的一种保留与延续,也是中国戏曲的精粹。作为古装戏曲的服装设计人员,其主要工作就是在尊重和弘扬这种传统精粹的基础上,根据剧情的需要,从服装的色彩和细节的变化上发挥想象,进行突破性的创新和设计,以求生动诠释人物的个性特征,体现编剧和导演的意图,从而给观众留下深刻的视觉印象。
The costume design of the costume drama differs from other important features of theatrical costume design in that it is used to stylized costumes - the identity of characters and the drama characteristics of singing and dancing stories. This is a kind of reservation and continuation of traditional opera art since the Ming Dynasty, and is also the essence of Chinese opera.
