高炉煤气是钢铁联合企业生产过程中的副产品,发热量一般为800~1000大卡/米~3,除钢铁联合企业自行燃用一部分外,目前都有较多的剩余量。为了保持高炉煤气管网压力稳定,在炼铁厂附近,专设对空排放管排入大气,既严重污染了环境,又造成燃料的极大浪费。因此在钢铁联合企业附近的电厂锅炉,一般都应设汁有燃烧高炉煤气的装置。但电厂在燃用高炉煤气的过程中,尚存在不少技术问题,更不能在锅炉启动中用高炉煤气来代替柴油或重油点火、助燃。包头第一热电厂经过多年研究和设备改进,已使全厂高温高压锅炉都能可靠地燃烧高
