对北京市高层建筑供水设施及出水水质调查结果显示，自１９９０年北京市人民政府６号令实施以来取得了显著的成绩，１００％发放饮水卫生许可证，水质总合格率达９７％，但同时在预防性和经常性卫生监督等方面仍存在一些问题，如水箱设计不合理；尚有５０．７％的高层建筑供水设施未安装消毒器；对水箱清洗队、防腐施工队管理不力等，客观存在二次供水设施饮水污染的隐患。在１９９２～１９９５年共发生该类饮水污染事故１７起，但均得到及时处理
