The planners of this generation are deeply influenced by two kinds of tidal currents that are often the opposite: the emerging multicultural policies and the growing conservatism in the art world. In reinforcing the cultural meanings of the former and a critique of the latter, Enviso became editor of a poet and became one of the clearest and most exciting planners active in today’s mind. In 1994, after living in the United States for thirteen years, Enviso, born in Nigeria and living in New York, founded NKA, the Contemporary African Art Magazine, and is one of three editors. Like NKA, a “art” dialect in Nigeria, and in Cameroon’s other dialect it means that the many meanings of “talking” suggest that the magazine talks extensively about the arts and theories on the basis of Contemporary
