一般航空馆的展品都是较为完整的飞机整机,而西安航空馆展厅除了展出较为完整的整机外,还收藏了不少飞机的部件残骸,其中的一些还是世界航空史上非常著名的飞机。如在第二次世界大战中无处不在的 DC-3运输机、英国全木质的“蚊”式高速轰炸机、冷战对抗中刺探秘密的 U-2高空侦察机等。其中在展厅的一角展示有一段机翼残骸,为全金属结构,根据形态看得出这段机翼是一架飞机的中央翼部分,而西安航空馆的说明展板介绍说这是日本的零式战斗机。
