Michelle Foucault has become a kind of image, a symbol. This article discusses two of Foucault’s fame: the long-term hostility of professional historians and the admiration of his students. Foucault deconstructed the two concepts that historians consider undeniable: the concept of continuity and the concept of progress. Foucault believes that nothing is necessarily and foreseeable, history does not follow a certain logic, additional results and alternative solutions are possible. His concept is the forerunner of postmodernism. Foucault neither right nor wrong, he can not do without the time.
