The authors report that the age-adjusted death rate of aplastic anemia in Japan dropped in the mid-1970s and the survival rate increased accordingly. During this period, there was no consistent change between the incidence of aplastic anemia and death in Japan. The data of aplastic anemia in this paper come from the Japanese census data by international disease classification. Survival was obtained from data on 1000 patients aged> 15 years with aplastic anemia from approximately 40 hospitals affiliated with the Japan Specialized Disease Research Council. And surveyed the Japanese Red Cross to provide concentrated platelet production, blood supply and antibiotic sales date. Results: The male mortality rate continued to decline in the <40-year-old group from 1965; similar in the 40-59-year-old group; more pronounced in 1973-1979; the 60-79-year old group increased slowly in 1973 and 1973-1978
