Cable-stayed bridges are reasonably economical for medium-span and long-span structures, especially with regard to their material utilization. In countries where the cost of materials is more labor-intensive, cable-stayed bridges are in a better position to cost than other bridges. Although cable-stayed bridges are now commonly used on bridges spanning 500 feet or more of the main span, it seems economical for bridges over 300 feet of the main span. Cable-stayed bridges can be designed with many different calculation parameters. However, it would be difficult to choose the best solution without spending a long time on comparison design. Research shows that radiant snail is likely to be the lowest cost solution. The standard design for a variety of long and narrow cable-stayed bridges will greatly reduce costs and shorten construction periods.
