The Temple of Heaven in Beijing was built in the 16th century. It is known for its majestic architectural style and is known worldwide for its peculiar acoustic phenomena. The scientific description of these acoustic phenomena was first seen in Mr. Tang Dingyuan’s article in the 2nd issue of the Science Bulletin of 1953. For more than 40 years, textbooks and scientific popularization magazines in China have used this as a basis to illustrate the “echo wall” and “three” of the Temple of Heaven. Acoustic phenomena such as sound stone. Recently, Professor Yu Wenguang of Heilongjiang University, Prof. Jia Yusheng of Harbin University of Science and Fu Zhengxin from the Institute of Engineering Mechanics at the State Seismological Bureau, and so on, used modern experimental instruments and testing methods to conduct multiple experiments and examinations on the spot. Many new discoveries have been made in the study of acoustic phenomena in these ancient buildings in China, and new explanations and explanations have been made. Here, they introduce their latest research on the echo of the Temple of Heaven’s “echo wall” and “three-tone stone”.
