2014 was a significant year for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC).Under the theme of Shaping the Future through AsiaPacific Partnership,China and other APEC members have developed many practical initiatives for cooperation concing the advancement of regional economic integration,promoting innovative development,economic reform and growth,and have made efforts in shaping an open,inclusive,mutually beneficial partnership.In particular,in the promotion of regional economic integration,China and other APEC economies engaged in extensive consultations and reached important consensus for kicking off and advancing the Free Trade Area for the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP).The APEC leaders endorsed the Beijing Roadmap for APEC’s Contribution to the Realization of the FTAAP (Beijing Roadmap),which constitutes a milestone in the 2014 APEC meeting and a substantial step toward the eventual realization of the FTAAP.
