Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology to improve transmission capacity, but also has unparalleled networking advantages. Optical reconfigurable optical add / drop multiplexers (OADMs) can be constructed using optical filters or optical switches. The combination of OADM and DWDM technologies make up the best all-optical MAN solution. This paper describes the functional structure of all-optical communication network nodes, and studies the various all-optical network node structures based on the optical transponder OUT and OADM.
