On October 11, 2002, the House and Senate of the United States Congress, despite the strong opposition from the international community, successively adopted a resolution that authorized the U.S. President Bush to launch a military attack on Iraq over the overcast war in Iraq. U.S. troops and U.S. warships flew into the Arabian waters. U.S. and U.S. warplanes stepped up to the Middle East. U.S. and British warplanes frequently bombed Iraqi air defense facilities. The U.S. Central Command has moved from the United States to the Gulf. Qatar; the U.S. military stationed in the Gulf has repeatedly held military exercises; and the United States is stepping up its lobbying efforts in the hope that the international community will support the use of force in Iraq. Tug of war, great “rain to wind floor” trend. Why must the United States attack Iraq? The author introduces some background materials and carries out some analysis for readers’ reference.
