2016 Shishi Fashion Week, themed on “Creative Shishi · Fashion Interconnection”, kicked off in Fujian during the 2nd China (Quanzhou) Maritime Silk Road Expo and the 19th Straits Textile Clothing Fair in a completely new way with various activities including designers’ press release, E-Commerce Fashion Model Contest, and Young Entrepreneurs Bazaar.

Each year, there are “Golden Award” or “Top Ten” designers in Shishi Fashion Week, and there is no exception this year. Moreover, there are also well-known designers from the Untied Kingdom and South Korea as well as local designers and brands from Shishi, who get together to make this Fashion Week more authoritative, more stylish, more high-end, and more diverse.

During the Fashion Week, Shishi, together with Alibaba, created a mode of “Internet + powerful industry groups” based on “online industrial zone + offline industrial park”, and held E-Commerce Fashion Model Contest to select and train online models for the e-commerce in line with the new “Internet +” era.

Shishi Fashion Week this year was staged during the same period of the 2nd Fujian “Top Ten Fashion Designers” Final Selection, attracting a gathering of young talents such as Wang Junhong who won the “Excellence Award” in“Hempel Award” China International Young Fashion Designers Contest during China International Fashion Week, Zheng Lili who won the Silver Cup of the Eastern Division of the 19th Jeanswest Fashion Award, He Wenhao, Founder of designer brand HEWENHAO, and 90’s wedding dress designer Guan Guoyi.
The Fifth “Shishi Cup” National Fashion Design Contest for College Graduates was also staged during the Fashion Week. Themed on “Innovation & Integration”, the contest attracted a number of applicants from more than nationwide 120 colleges and universities, such as Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and Wuhan Textile University. At last, 61 finalists were selected to come to the show. Moreover, the judges were the Top Ten Designers as well as well-known teachers in China.
Such activities as selection and contest build a platform for the new talented designers to exhibit their ability.The emergence of new forces will continue strengthening Shishi as a fashion source of “Fujian-Style Clothing” and the fertile soil to nurture future “Golden Award”or “Top Ten” designers.
