Objective To analyze the factors influencing peripheral nerve conduction velocity in type 2 diabetic patients and compare the difference of peripheral nerve conduction velocity between patients with and without DN. Methods The motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV1, MCV2) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) of the left median nerve and the left common peroneal nerve of 63 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were measured. FBG, HbA1C and morning urine Protein (MAC), according to the level of MAC to determine whether DN and group, respectively, two groups of MCV1, MCV2, SCV. Results MCV1, MCV2 and SCV were negatively correlated with HbA1C and MAC levels, respectively, but not with age. MCV1, MCV2 was negatively correlated with the course of disease. Peripheral nerve conduction velocity in patients with DN was slower than those without DN, the difference was significant. Conclusions Peripheral nerve conduction velocity in patients with type 2 diabetes is negatively correlated with HbA1c and MAC. Patients with diabetic nephropathy often have peripheral neuropathy.
