我场连续两年对棉花“河南79”进行品比试验,证明它是一个优良品种,比岱字16原种增产20.4%,比徐州142增产13.8%,品质好。其综合性状是;植株松散茎杆壮,苗期长势整齐,茎杆多呈紫红色,茸毛较少,色白,果枝上仰较对称,座生节位7～8节,枝叶疏朗叶片较小,较薄、色浅绿,缺刻较深,稍平展,结铃性强,偏卵园,嘴尖壳薄,色泽洁白吐絮畅。平均绒长32毫米,大样衣分38%,单铃重5.5克,籽指10—11克。
